Ahhh, Gossip Girl and the games they play. First, let us remind you that we should all be rejoicing! Chuck Bass is alive and well after that near-fatal finale. He is seriously rockin' that cane too, might we add. Now here's what we can tell you: The bulk of what's getting out on the interwebs from Gossip Girl's shoot in Paris is mainly Chuck and her new galpal, and Blair and Serena pushing each other into fountains. But we have it on good authority that B & C will in fact reunite in the city of love, there are some discussions to be had. Don't expect the two to head back to NYC all lovey-dovey, but maybe, just maybe Blair will begin to forgive Chuck for his Jenny-wandering ways

I'm not concerned with Chenny on the level of Jenny developing feelings for Chuck Kim. That clip doesn't change my mind on that at all. Last season the writers weren't telling a story about two screwed up people bonding in their darkest moment. They were telling a story about two screwed up people on their individual spirals that through pure chance end up on a freakin' collision course with one another (if that distinction makes any sense).
Chuck is just a guy Jenny was in a horrible, traumatic car accident with and vice-versa.

Now, having said that: Jenny COULD come back as an obstacle to CB. But not because she has feelings for Chuck. Jenny developing feelings for Chuck would be completely random. It wouldn't fit with Jenny's individual story and Jenny is NOT a plot point character that props others. (At first I thought she was propping NS last season but when I look back I think THEY were actually props in Jenny's spiral storyline.)

The way she could come back as an obstacle for CB would be if she was pregnant - which would be absolutely horrible. That would only happen if Dan ISN'T the daddy of Dangina but it simply would not make alot of sense unless CB had reunited or were close to reuniting. Since we know Eva leaves in 4x4 and Jenny returns in 4x6 that doesn't give CB much time to reunite. So I really don't think this story is going to happen. It simply loses it's emotional punch if CB are already estranged.
Plus, as I predicted in the main thread, if the writers actually did this? Then either the baby dies or Jenny leaves the show (she dies or abandons the baby).
A Chuck and Jenny co-parenting storyline simply does not fit both characters arcs. Jenny the teenage mom does not fit. Chuck, the single father raising a child alone the way Bart raised him? Not a crazy idea at all unfortunately.

So anyway, that's the only way I can see Jenny being an obstacle to CB (and it IS a doozy!!!).

But having said all that, I don't think the writers will go there. Taylor doesn't seem interested in leaving the show and even if the showrunners wanted to get rid of her there's no way the CW will. She has become a pretty hot property of late with the perfume endorsement and the deal with Madonna and Lourde's fashion line. If they keep her they aren't saddling Jenny Humphrey with a baby. It's as simple as that. :shrug:

So don't worry about Chenny! :lol:
Jenny will either be a good force for CB (because she's redeemed!!!) or she'll be brawling with Blair. CJ will go the way of CV (but not until they have some big moment where they discuss what happened and Chuck apologizes to her. I predict that will happen.)

It's moments like this that make it obvious to me I'm a couple fan more than a character fan. :lol: I should be happy that the writers seem to be interested in rebuilding Chuck as a character. But the fact we have pretty much NO info about them rebuilding CB has me down (along with :blah: and :idea:'s love of OMFGs). I'm not worried about the writing seriously moving away from CB romantically. It's more that I feel like they were harmed so badly that they warrant a SERIOUS rebuild. You know what's sad? I am soooo shallow that if the writers brushed off CB's issues but just wrote them a bunch of awesome sexy love scenes and epic moments? I'd be satisfied. :lol: Isn't that horrible? After all the damage that's been done to them and Chuck as a character? Pfft. I KNOW that about myself. :lol: Those kind of scenes are like CRACK for me. :lol: One smart thing the writers did the first half of the season is throw one sweet, supportive CB moment into almost every episode. But I don't think we're going to get those crack moments this season. We haven't had one since 3x12 (arguably 3x13). So I've come up with a solution to my depressing attitude:
I just need to get out of my shipper mindset. :lol: I like all the structure (parallels, foreshadowing, callbacks, etc.) that they've given the show. It's kind of like a puzzle. :lol: CB, Chuck, Blair, Jenny and to a slightly lesser extent Dan and Serena's storylines have this quality. So that's kind of fun. When that ceases to be fun I'll tune out. But it's best to keep my expectations low when it comes to CB next season. :(

Exactly. That's a big reason I thought DV aren't totally over (besides the fact the writers gave them ALOT of build. The only couples they put greater effort into IMO are CB, DS and RL.) Unless Jess is leaving the show Vanesa WILL be in Dan's storyline.
I think there's alot of wishful thinking going on in the fandom:
- DS fans that think V will have a story seperate from them
- NS fans that think Jenny isn't coming back and Taylor has been fired
- Blair fans that think Blair will be free from horrible Chuck this season to finally be happy with someone else.
- Chuck fans that seriously think Chuck/Eva will NOT be a total prop in the end.
- NS and DS fans that think they'll get Serena chasing and pining after Nate or Dan
- Chuck fans that think they'll get jealous, bitchy Blair pining for Chuck
- DB fans that think this is THEIR season for DB to finally date which will of course SAVE THE SHOW!!!
- Blair fans that think they'll get badass Blair punishing Chuck by practically having sex with hot guys in his face and everyone sympathizing with Blair and hating Chuck for having a gf.

I love your sig! That's actually one of my favorite movies! I keep meaning to buy a copy of "Network" on DVD. It's VERY prescient regarding reality and tabloid TV. If I'm not mistaken, it was about 15 - 20 years before those things really took off.

Here's one positive thought (which you guys can feel free to squash down for me. :lol:) Josh basically confirmed what we already knew: CB will NEVER really be over.

The Chuck-Blair relationship, whether they’re together or not — which I’m certainly not going to reveal either way — will always be a huge drive to the show emotionally.

CB will not get a season like Dan and Serena. I'm willing to bet cyberdollars on that.
The only reason DS were seperated the way they were was to build up DV and NS as legit contenders to endgame - complete with "I love yous" - while keeping the door open for DS. If DS interacted while DV and NS were being built up? It would've undermined those stories.

Eva is leaving in 4 episodes and Chuck has no other options for endgame than Blair. The writers COULD change their minds about Dan and Nate, but right now they seem focused on building up DV and DS for Dan and NS and yes NJ for Nate. Few people believe me on this but I bet you anything this is the season for NJ to happen for real. Regardless, at the moment Dan and Nate are too busy with other characters than to have a serious romance with Blair. Ergo, no reason to seperate CB the way DS was seperated.

Oh man, I think she was sooooo wasted in that comedic crap last season. It pisses me off. And I'll probably get slapped for this but I think Blair fans that push for DB are nuts because that's how the writers see her in relation to him: Pure OTT comedy. The idea the writers are going to give DB some touching story where he supports her through her crises is a pipe dream. First, they aren't going to make Dan into Blair's prop. Second, they love DB as frenemies and comedic sparring partners. It ain't going to happen. EVER. IMO Blair's best storylines are always with Chuck and Serena. Those are the relationships the writers care about.

I think she had one small individual arc last season that was good: 3x17-3x20. Those were ALL about Blair IMO. And honestly, I think she's more than just the supportive girlfriend in CB's relationship last season. She had far more of a POV than say Carter did with Serena the first part of the season and Nate had during NS last season. But I would LOVE to see a storyline that was truly about HER issues instead of just Chuck's. I'd like a total role reversal:
Let Blair's issues drive the story. Have Chuck support her and have the story be largely about how he reacts. I think that would be pretty awesome tbh.
And (here I go getting positive again) I think this could happen because I think this Chuck growth storyline may be wrapping up Chuck's major arc.

At the very least, she WON'T play supportive girlfriend to Chuck this season and there's a VERY good chance he may be playing supportive boyfriend to HER next season. :)

Excellent excellent point! This is one reason I don't think Chuck is going to get some kind of big business storyline that is unrelated to his relationship with Blair. Unless the story is being played almost entirely for laughs and can draw in ALOT of characters (like the NYU follies of last season :rolleyes:) it HAS to tie back to key relationship dynamics. It's like sure Chuck's personal issues drive all his storylines but they ALL tie back to CB in the end.

I agree that I think Blair wanting to dominate socially has been a big part of her character since the beginning. And I would probably like it more if it wasn't always played off as comedy. But I don't think they need to repeat the storyline like three times every single season.

I read the interview Ed didn't say any thing that implies C/B being done forever so makes you think they are not getting back together this season. That is all

After last season you never know what they will do to them again. CB are always on the chopping block for the worst OMFG'S ever. And like Chris said.. idc about a damn journey if the journey SUCKS LOL

Also, for the hundredth time, Chuck is NOT growing from this s/l. All he is doing is running away and not facing up to his problems after all the stuff that happened last year. The new girl is not growth and that's what Chuck needs- growth. All he's doing is lying and not facing up to himself or what he did last season. That is why we don't like the storyline.

Alos, all they're giving is ridiculous s/l's after the ridiculous OMFG's that went on last season. Why are we supposed to be happy with whatever crap they shove down our throats???

its fine, and its not about you stepping on anyone's toes. Just that a lot are passed that wait and see mode because of the lack of trust. Like I said, once they see, it could get better. I know I'm willing to say it if I like it. But I wouldnt bet my bottom dollar on it right now

So it looks like Serena will be conflicted when it comes to Nate and Dan (I"m not sure why she should be conflicted since they're pretty much the same dude now. :lol:)
Dan and Georgina are going to be interacting alot during the Dangina storyline.
Vanessa will be part of the Dangina storyline this season.
Nate will have a new love interest and she's sticking around for 10-12 episodes.

So my ONLY concern with regard to Blair's requisite love interest the second half of the season has been handled:
Blair will NOT be paired with another main character. :yay:
So much for the UNDENIABLE Dair romantic foreshadowing. :rolleyes: Hehe. (Yes, I still harbor bitterness from GGI, so sure me. ;))
